Meet Our Staff
Dr. Allen Roberts – Senior Pastor
Pastor Allen began his ministry at EABC on Sunday, July 3rd, 2016. A native of Granite Falls, North Carolina, he is a graduate of Gardner – Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina (Bachelor of Arts in Religion, May 1986); Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas (Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages, July 1989); and Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia (Doctor of Ministry, May 2007).
Pastor Allen and his wife, Karen, have been married since April, 1986. They are the proud parents of a son and daughter-in-law who live in Tennessee, and a daughter and son-in-law who live in North Carolina.
Evan Edwards – Minister of Music and Worship
Evan is currently serving in his fifteenth year as Minister of Music and Worship at Euclid. A native of Marion, North Carolina, he holds the degrees Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee and Master of Arts in Religion from the Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is currently pursuing the Doctor of Worship degree from the Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
His duties include leading the weekly worship service as well as conducting the Celebration Choir, Orchestra, Praise Team, Praise Ringers Handbell Choir and One Voice Student Choir and Band. He also oversees the Children’s Music Program as well as the Audio Visual Ministries. Prior to being called to Euclid Evan served as Minister of Music at the First Baptist Church of Fall Branch in Fall Branch, Tennessee. While at FBC Fall Branch, his duties included conducting the adult choir and youth choir as well as leading the weekly worship services.
Evan has served on staff at a number of middle schools and high schools throughout East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Western North Carolina as a vocal, instrumental and conducting instructor. An avid performer on tuba, Evan is the principle tuba player for the Jonhson City Symphony Orchestra. Evan is also a Lecturer in Low Brass at King University in Bristol, Tennessee.
He holds memberships in the American Choral Directors Association, the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, where he serves as Area III District Chair, the American Guild of Organists and the International Tuba Euphonium Association.
Evan is married to Wendy Edwards who is an elementary music teacher in the Bristol Virginia Public School system in. Evan and Wendy have three children: Elijah, Phoebe Grace and Josiah.
Susan Thompson – Director of Preschool and Children’s Ministries
Originally from Pennington Gap, VA, Susan attended Cumberland College where she earned her RN (Registered Nurse) degree. She and Bill married in college and she served in hospitals wherever they have lived. In Taiwan she served as an IMB misionary for 15 years where she used her nursing skills, helped start a church and helped start the first crisis pregnancy center in that nation (the Ray of Hope Crisis Preganancy Center). In 2003 she began her ministry here at Euclid.
Bill Thompson – Minister of Youth and Education
Bill grew up in Oak Ridge, TN, attended Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY and then seminary at Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. He pastored in West Virginia and then was a missionary in Taiwan for 15 years. Bill joined the EABC staff in 2003. He and Susan have three grown children (one son, two daughters) and five beautiful grandchildren.
